Postcard: January 15, 1989 S- Greetings from Agadez! Finally. After 4 days in Tamanrasset (Algeria) we finally found the part needed to fix the rig. Patience is a virtue, especially here…500 Mile drive to Agadez. Thought it would take 2 days, instead took 4 due to Sandstorm. (Crazy-Like nothing you have ever seen) After crossing border, met some nice Tuaregs who helped with directions. It was late when we got to outskirts of Agadez- Found this place called Signe Du Commercant (Sign of the Trader), sort of a hotel/restaurant/general store. Comfortable rooms- great food. Shared a meal with some very cool young Tuareg guys. Later they played incredible music. I’m going to bring you a cassette. Its dusty, and rough but oh so special here.
