Set of 10 Charles Phillips & Sons Saarinen Style Maple Wood and Fabric Armchairs
A set of 10 Charles Phillips & Sons maple armchairs. This stunning set of art deco dining chairs come originally from The Rattlesnake Club, a now closed fine dining restaurant on the Detroit river, and a winner of the coveted James Beard Award. Among the outstanding art within the establishment, the furniture was not overlooked. These beautiful chairs were created by Ron Saarinen Swanson and manufactured by Charles Phillips & Sons in Michigan. Ron Saarinen Swanson modeled these chairs based on the dining chairs in his grandparents' family dining room. These chairs have a truly beautiful story and provenance. The simple, elegant design shows the timeless nature of the Saarinen family’s designs. Each one of these 10 chairs are in slightly different condition, and as a whole, they would be considered in good used condition. Some chairs would be considered in fair condition, and some good. The Charles Phillips & Sons plaque can be seen on the underside of each chair as pictured
