Ptychosperma salomonense Ptychosperma salomonense is native to the tropical rainforest of the Solomon Islands. This attractive and very slender solitary palm can quickly reach 40 ft. tall topped with a beautiful, dense crown of elegantly arching leaves. Like most in the genus, Ptychosperma salomonense loves our South Florida alkali soil. It's a very fast grower, much quicker than P.elegans and is usually thought to be much more attractive. One of a handful of palm species named "Hurricane Palms" for their outstanding resistance to strongest storms.
