By presenting many types of stimuli, we can learn how the brain represents information and uses it to control behavior. . A special type of microscope was used to see through the brain, similar to how a fMRI works on people. This fly was shown vertical black and white stripes moving in various directions while the activity of the whole brain was recorded.
