Pink Breadseed Poppy sampler

  Pink Breadseed Poppy (full sun, zone 3-8) You will receive 1/4 teaspoon of seeds.  Breadseed poppies emerge from the ground with tall stalks of soft sage green leaves rolled around the center stem and gracefully curling around to their many pointed edges.  Flower pods gracefully bow their little heads until they bloom slightly upward as if to watch you in the garden.  Their centers have a collection of soft stamens full of pollen around a center pistil that will become the seed pod. The flowers are delicate whimsical petals that seem nearly transparent and are wonderful when backlit by the sun during golden hour. As the petals fall, they will give way to ornamental seed pods. The tiny seeds mature inside segments within the pods and when the plant is ready small sections beneath the little "lid" will open for the seeds to disperse.
