Fuchsite is also the most common inclusion in quartz to create green aventurine. This lustrous stone was named after Johann Fuchs, a German chemist and mineralogist who was known for his waterglass work and contributions to the production of cement. Today’s fuchsite can be found in Brazil, Austria, Sweden, and the US. Though the pearly greens may make it seem easy to spot in a crowd, fuchsite has been a confusing stone throughout its life.
