Join me for a day of learning Copperplate calligraphy in my new studio! ✨ Introduction to Copperplate - Part 1 (Basic Strokes + Lowercase Letters)Date: Saturday, June 24, 2023Location: Tustin, California 92780. Exact location will be emailed to you after registrationTime: 10AM-3PM (This includes a 1 hour lunch break)*Light snacks, drinks will be provided This introductory workshop will take you through one of my absolute favorite pointed pen scripts. Copperplate script is derived from a form of handwriting called English Roundhand and though it was widely used from the 16th-19th century..it continues to be a favored script today. If you are interested in dipping into pointed pen calligraphy, learning this script will give you a strong foundation of the classic letterforms. We will be using a flexible steel nib to achieve the delicate hairlines and thick shades.  Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced calligrapher, all are welcome! We will begin from the ground up and go over: Introduction to pointed pen Posture/Set Up Warm Ups/Drills/Nib Exercises Lowercase Basic Strokes Breakdown of each lowercase letters in groups *Note - ALL supplies are materials will be provided for you (valued $65+) including a workshop instructional booklet, my lowercase Copperplate Practice Pad, practice paper, dual oblique holder, jar of sumi ink, 2 nibs, etc. **Class size will be limited to 11 to facilitate an intimate and personalized workshop experience.
