Our southwest Georgia pines are native home to this prize; The Northern Bobwhite Quail [Colinus Virginianus]. Upland bird hunters flock to the woods, mid November through the end of February, in search of the Prince of the game birds. Lori created her interpretation on a repurposed composite board that she found in a local gallery. After brooding season, 12-25 birds gather to create a ‘covey’. This beauty measures 29” by 29”. Lori wrote a Hunter’s Blessing [see in Blessing Towels], as her first Blessing back in 2006 as her husband left for an early morning quail hunt.
