Whether you are in your first, second or third stage of womanhood, we all know our hormonal system can feel overly complex at times. While the blessings of being born female are plentiful, let’s be honest - sometimes it doesn’t feel that way in our bodies! The Grandmother Spider tonic was developed specifically to assist with a host of issues - ranging from PMS, hot flashes, menopausal sexual dysfunction, and others - as well as try to provide relief for the symptoms associated with painful hormonal conditions.Ingredients include: 1. Black Cohosh - Native Americans taught European colonizers about this beautiful women’s tonic, who took it back to the European mainland to use in their herbal traditions. Black cohosh is known to be one of the best herbs for treatment of the uncomfortable effects of menopause. It can also be very an effective pain reliever. Black Cohosh is an ally for women at the initiation into the 3rd phase of womanhood. It offers protection and inner guidance by connecting body and soul. It can be used to assimilate the wisdom of the wise wound and draw upon its creative power. 2. Red Raspberry - it’s not just the fruit that is beautiful on this plant. It’s leaves are equally as beneficial. They are best known for their astringent and toning powers, which are particularly valued as uterine tonic. 3. Vitex - The Vitex agnus-castus is powerful womb and love medicine that has come to be an ally for women today struggling with infertility and greater uterine conditions. Chaste trees were central to the ancient Greek festival Thesmophoria, held in honour of Demeter. During this festival, women remained "chaste" and used chaste tree blossoms and branches for adornment. It is known to help ease PMS, reduce uterine fibroids, improve fertility, reduce endometriosis and lower menopausal symptoms. 4. Wild Yam - Native American women have used Wild Yam root to ease the pain of labour, and it has long been held as a women’s tonic, and though it is not the cure-all it was once thought, it has proven to be a valuable addition to tonics for this purpose. 5. Evening Primrose - this beautiful bloomer is useful for a number of women’s conditions. One of the most outstanding uses of Evening Primrose oil involves its hormone balancing properties for the female reproductive system, especially premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It also treats perimenopausal and/or menopausal symptoms. The hormone balancing properties of Evening Primrose also give away its deeper soul qualities. The feminine reproductive system is intimately related to the forces of the Moon. The monthly menstrual cycle is truly how the Moon ebbs and flows within the woman’s body. As a night blooming flower, Evening Primrose is deeply attenuated to the Moon’s forces and opens in response to them. 6. Dong Quai- This potent women's herb has the ability to regulate estrogen levels - whether they're too high or too low - strengthening the uterus, improving uterine tone and regulating the menstrual cycle. In TCM, it is a blood tonic, and has been shown to improve red blood cell counts which is helpful after menstruation has ended as the blood is replenished more rapidly. It increases blood flow to the reproductive system, reducing congestion and pain. Dong Quai is traditionally used for situations of stagnation such as PCOS, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids. 7. Red Clover - Another plant introduced to colonizers by Native Americans, Clover contains isoflavones, which have a proven effect on female hormones and much has been written about Red Clover as an herb for menopausal problems. Clover has a mildly tonic effect on the nerves, which in turn also eases indigestion, nausea and headaches. 8. Shatavari - The word Shatavari translates to “she who has hundreds of husbands” or “curer of one hundred diseases” and is widely used today as a female tonic for women in all stages of their reproductive cycles. In Ayurveda, this plant is known as the “Queen of herbs”, because it promotes love and devotion. Traditionally, Shatavari has been utilized for millennia as an aphrodisiac and to promote fertility in women and men. The fresh juice of the plants roots is used in several classic formulas claimed to be sexual tonics. Shatavari contains both the bitter and sweet tastes and has nourishing, soothing, and cooling properties that help with many conditions when the body and mind are overheated, depleted, or out of balance.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONThese herbs, resins, roots, flowers, and powders are meant to be used for spell and ritual work, and for connecting with potent herbal allies.
