Malabar Spinach Seeds. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Basella alba. Warm season annual/perennial. Malabar spinach thrives in warm weather and is tolerant of heat and humidity. It is a perennial tropical plant. This variety has a green stem and dark green thick fleshy leaves. In cooler areas, it will not overwinter but will produce a good harvest as an annual. It is also called Basella or alugbati in the Philippines. How to gorw and care: Soak the seeds with warm water for 12-24 hours or regular water for 48 hours beforeplanting. Dig holes 4 inches deep and 5 to 12 inches apart for each seeds, plantingthem in rows if desired. Keep the soil well-watered at all times to help the seedsgerminate. Malabar Spinach can grow well in high temperature 68-86 degrees F.(20-30degrees C.). The plant needs little attention, add a feed of nitrogen-rich fertilizer sprayevery two weeks. Water everyday 1-2 times per day.
