Her artistic focus is monotypes, one-of-a-kind works created by painting directly onto a plate and running the plate through a printing press. Sarah is drawn to this style of printmaking because it always includes an element of surprise. Monotypes can also not be reproduced and therefore differ from other printmaking processes like intaglio or lithography where the plates are etched. Sarah likes to utilize the unique and unexpected textures of both natural and man-made objects such as vegetable wrappers, bubble wrap, leaves or dried flowers in her work.
