Wheels of Fortune Kimono

Inspired by my take on the Buddhist Wheel of life, this one of a kind kimono is made from a vintage light-weight rinzu (similar to damask) silk kimono. The komon (al-over) patterned kimono features katazome and yuzen (resist dyeing techniques). It would have been considered a casual kimono.  I have taken inspiration from the yuzen pattern and embellished along the collar with lace and jersey flowers as well as thread work and beading.
