In The Wings

Original - Oil on canvas 22" x 28" This painting was a trip back in time for me to my childhood. I remember taking ballet lessons with my little sister and how frightening it was when we finally had the real recital. It was fun practicing but the sight of the audience brought a new level of fear and realization that this is real that I had never experienced. I made it through because I didn't dare let my little sister see me scared. She did fine too. So this is more of a painting of a memory. So here is a portrait of three little ballerinas watching in the wings as the older girls do their presentation before it is their turn to perform.
