Maruvian Baga II Mask

Original -  Oil on gallery wrap canvas 10" x 10" The ancient Baga people had rich traditions of multi-functional masks and sculpture. This mask was created to bring healthy fertility to the women of the community. These masks were huge and worn on the shoulders during the dance ceremony. I have taken artistic license to render this image in my signature style of Plastic Space abstraction.
