   BYPASS PADLOCKS WITHOUT PICKING THEM Padlock shims are a quick way to open a padlock without attacking the pins. They are bypass tools, not picks, and work by disrupting the latching mechanism in the lock. To use, slip the shim between the hasp and body and twist (see picture at left). For double latching padlocks, use a shim on each side of the hasp. Our MTL Padlock Shim Set is made from high-quality spring steel and comes with 2 different sizes (for large and small locks). Each shim has rubber handles for extra grip. ***Padlock shims work best on low and medium security padlocks.
