Storage and Handling Tips: Hood River apples and pears are best stored in a cool place such as a cellar or refrigerator. Apples will be crisp and sweet, ready to eat when they arrive at your door. Comice pears, like most pears, will ripen best when stored at room temperature. To determine if they are ready to eat, apply gentle thumb pr
