Class Level: Beginner Age Requirements: 12 and older Average Class Size: 10 Teacher: Ara Melkonian What you'll learn in this bag class: This class was designed for those curious individuals who would like to design and make their own handbags and other leather accessories. In our friendly studio environment you will: Learn at your own pace Received a brief introduction on the history of leather Learn how to identify different types of leather, leather natural characteristics and some basic terms Learn the basic concepts of working with leather while developing skills for designing and working with patterns, materials, tools, sewing and finishing techniques. All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Students will have two hours access to Open Studio, to put their new knowledge to practice.
