"Unicorn in the Garden" Tapestry

The "Unicorn in the Garden" is part of the celebrated Unicorn Tapestries series (see Related Products below for the matching tapestry or canvases). Here the white unicorn lives happily inside an enclosed garden, while being chained to a tree. He represents the Lover, and the enclosed garden represents his commitment to marriage. As a matter of fact, the unicorn-lover lives in captivity, but happily so. The tree is a pomegranate, symbol of fertility during medieval times. In the original tapestry, the unicorn spills blood as a symbol of sacrifice, but we decided to eliminate it to better suit a living room environment.
