Staddon's Select Sweet Pepper

These compact plants produce a good number of large, red sweet bell peppers.  They always perform very well in the shelter of a high tunnel, but this year's crop was grown outdoors and yielded an abundance of ripe red fruit in our climate.  Remember, peppers are wonderful at after-ripening. If frost is on the way and peppers are not all the way colored, you can harvest them, place them in a closed box in a cool place and give them a week or two, most will completely turn, and taste sweet and delicious.  It is fine to eat them green, but they are so much better ripe!
