You don't have to drop a lot of money of your first ukulele! The starter packs from Ohana come with everything an ukulele player needs to get started!  It has a tuner, an added button, strap, and bag. All of this at one affordable price. But even at this price point, it will get my personal attention and set up, so the action will be comfortable and ideal so that those learning the ukulele will feel more successful right away!   I always recommend the -10 series from Ohana for a first ukulele! The laminate makes for a very stable uke, so I can take it anywhere and I am not worried about variation in temperature or humidity effecting my uke.
