Bars Program - Convenience Store Private Compliance Check Visit

The Bars Program provides nationwide on-premises private compliance testing. When you purchase a visit, you will get a secret shop by a young investigator (age 21 – 25) that will test your compliance to ID checking and ID Scanning, and make sure you are carding and checking IDs. You will then get feedback on how you did and can use this feedback for your staff. No government involvement. The idea is that if you do this, when the government does come in to check on you, you have the confidence to know you will pass the inspections. How it Works BARs sends their 21-25 year old Checkers into our customer stores or restaurant locations once or twice each month to conduct mock purchases of cigarettes, tobacco vape products and / or beer. The purpose of this is to monitor your store employees and see if they ask for the customer's ID prior to asking for money to complete the sale. If the ID is requested, the employee receives a Green Card. If not, a Red Card is given. They will check that you are using your Minor Decliner and see if the store employees use the device. After the visit, an email report is sent to the store’s management. All visit results can be viewed in our password-protected reporting website.
