18th C. Queen Anne American Maple New England High Boy Flat Top, Rhode Island
We are offering... An 18th century Queen Ann American maple New England, Rhode Island, flat top high chest of drawers. The secondary wood is poplar. The chest has beautiful graceful long legs with a cabriole knee ending in a pad foot: lovely proportions. The top of the chest has a stepped ledge that leads downs to the 11 drawers that range in size. The drawer bottoms are hand chamfered, with old nails. This highboy has period style brass bail pull in good condition. The drawer on the top right is the only drawer with a hole for a key. This highboy appears to have all original boards, and is in two pieces. The chest has a two piece vertical backing. This piece is sold in a wonderful unrestored condition. Approx. Some losses to wood, some shrinkage from age. losses corners on four drawers. Has later period style pulls.
