ea. 19th c Miniature Portrait of a Royal Lady by Emanuel Thomas Peter, Austria

A Very Rare Wonderful signed Miniature Portrait of a Beautiful and Nobel Lady, by Emanuel Thomas Peter, born in 1799 in Krnov, Austria,   into an artistic family. In 1818 he moved to Vienna to study painting at the Vienna Academy and was a student of Moritz Michael Daffinger (1790-1849). He rose to great esteem in 1840's & 50's when he made his most famous paintings. Including among Austrian Nobility. He died in 1873 at age seventy four. The beautiful Blue eyed Lady in this miniature Painting is wearing her hair and velvet clothing from the styles of the early to mid 19th c. with her large gold & pearl earrings. Probably from Austrian  Nobility she carries her look of Royalty. The watercolor gouache painting is signed by the artist on the lower right side of the piece. She is a miniature under glass with a leather back, presently set in a 19th c. miniature frame, held in place with 2 small nails.
