Fontainebleau by Gorham Sterling Silver Pierced Pea Spoon, Very Rare, S. 98g
We are offering... an exceedingly rare Gorham Sterling Silver Pierced Pea Spoon in the Fontainebleau pattern, designed by the french designer, F. Antoine Heller for Gorham in 1882. It has a wonderful shape, and is free of monograms. It is marked "Sterling" and has the Gorham silver marks including a Lion and Anchor and the letter G. This pattern depicts various figures of the French court of Fontainebleau. It is representative of the Beaux Arts aesthetic which drew upon the principles of French neoclassicism, but also incorporated Renaissance and Baroque elements.
