Giant Wolf Spider (Hogna sp. Arizona)

These giant wolf spiders (Hogna sp. Arizona) are likely a variant of Hogna carolinensis from Arizona. They display a wide variety of different colors and patterns and reach impressively large sizes as they are one of the largest true spiders native to the US. Giant wolf spiders are high-strung and have an impressive threat posture as well as an exciting feeding response. These spiders are hardy captives and a must have for any arachnid enthusiast in my opinion. Anecdotal evidence would suggest that these desert Hogna may be longer-lived than their southeastern counterparts.  Currently available specimens are field-collected sub-adults/adults.
