Three-striped Mud Turtle (Kinosternon baurii)
Three-striped mud turtles (Kinosternon baurii), often called just “striped” mud turtles, are a small species of mud turtle native to the southeastern United States. Adults rarely exceed 4” in carapace length and are one of the smallest turtles in the world. Mud turtles enjoy ample land space in addition to water. They are currently feeding on ZooMed baby turtle pellets, f/t bloodworms, f/t beef heart, chopped nightcrawlers, and small crickets. I also keep them with an ample amount of duckweed to provide security and provide a source of plant matter in their diet. Currently available specimens are captive bred and born 2023 hatchlings. DISCLAIMER: All turtles and tortoises with a shell length under 4" are sold for educational, scientific/research, and export purposes only!
