White perch (Morone americana) are a small species of temperate bass native to fresh and brackish waters of the east coast ranging from Nova Scotia to South Carolina. They are considered semi-anadromous as they typically migrate from brackish water into freshwater to spawn in the spring. White perch are generally abundant throughout their range and are popular for their value as both a sportfish and as a food fish, however they have become invasive in some areas and can be detrimental to certain fish populations that they outcompete for resources.  Possession of live white perch is banned in several states, know your state laws! NO SALE TO: MN, IA, KS, NE, IN Not often seen in home aquaria although they are fairly undemanding captives as long as they have appropriate space and filtration.  Origin: Currently available animals are field-collected and have gone through a preventative quarantine and treatments if necessary.  Care Level: Beginner-intermediate.  Diet: Not picky, mostly feed
