Description The gift of good health. Health and hygiene kits, along with training, are helping families to enjoy a full and healthy life. How your gift helps Mr Sone Khan, a farmer with seven children, has long had a passion for health, and did basic government training in primary health care. TEAR's partner World Concern, which works in remote villages like Sone's in rural Laos, helped him apply his skills and provided relevant equipment, and now Sone is the village health volunteer. He's now promoting health within his community - teaching families how to avoid preventable illnesses, performing basic health checks and dispensing medicines (for a very small fee). When asked whether it‰۪s made a difference, he says: "Yes! They change their behaviour - they do what we advise them." Sone's simple medical cabinet contains a thermometer, bandages, anti-malaria tablets, antiseptic and essential medicines.
