Kale, Wild Garden Mix
Brassica napus An Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI) pledged variety from Frank Morton and Wild Garden Organic Seeds in Oregon. Corporations are “owning” and patenting plant traits/genetics and OSSI varieties will not be “owned”. I say “Hell No Joe” to that “owning” crap. Anyways, this kale mix is an extremely broad genetic mix of awesome tastiness/leaf patterns for gardeners who enjoy saving seed. To save your own seed and make bio-regionally adapted seeds, sow in early Summer, over winter in your garden, then watch the flowers turn to seed by late Summer. Will not cross with other kale / Brassica species. ENJOY!!!!! (1) Start transplants 4 weeks before setting out after last spring frost. (2) Direct sow 7 seeds per foot and thin (and eat) to best plant per foot of row. Loves organic compost/fertilizer, regular irrigation, barefoot kiddos, and happy dancing little earthworms :) Open Source Seed Initiative Variety
