Artist: Raoul Dufy Medium: Lithographic Poster, 1957 Dimensions: 29.5 x 19.5 in / 75 x 49.5 cm Classic Poster Paper - Perfect Condition A This lithographic poster was designed after a gouache by Raoul Dufy, "Le Grand Concert" 1948, for the second Festival of Painting and Sculpture in 1957 in the town of Vichy, France, which was sponsored by the Lions Club International.  Grand Concert is one of a series of orchestral scenes that Raoul Dufy commenced at the beginning of the 1940s. Born into a musical family – Dufy’s father was a part-time organist and church choir conductor, and two of his brothers were musicians – the artist was immersed in the world of music from an early age, and had first depicted an orchestra in 1902. Depicting the orchestra from above, Dufy has painted an array of musicians in the middle of their performance.
