Jouir Bench in Raw Black Steel and Bronze Welding by MTHARU

The Jouir bench (72” x 24” x 18” H) expands upon the classic Jouir series in our collection. An ergonomic design, the bench also explores the idea of continuity through the form, and the idea of ornamenting scars through the welding process. The continuously rolled sheet of raw black steel is welded using melted bronze rather than conventional welding that is ground off and then painted over. It is the scars that give us strength as people, so why hide them. This design is fully customizable in materials and dimensions. Please note that raw black steel comes with natural knicks and markings that are inherent to the material. This adds to the raw nature of the design. Designed by Sumer Singh.
