Gamblin Pigmented Wax Resin Sticks

Gamblin Pigmented Wax Resin Sticks are ideal for filling losses in paintings during repair.  Using heated tools, the material is easy to apply and manipulate to recreate the texture of a canvas weave or brushwork.  Filling cracks or other irregularities is easy to accomplish with carving tools.   Gamblin Pigmented Wax Resin Sticks should be applied only in the area of loss, leaving no residue on the surrounding paint.  The wax resin sticks do not ghost, and are excellent for filling dark colors.  Composed of beeswax, microcrystalline wax, A-81 resin and lightfast pigments.  The material is hard but somewhat brittle and resists deformation at room temperature.  The Wax Resin will accept a varnish layer as well.
