Kenny Rogers 1980 "Lady" Liberty Label Award

Liberty Records label award celebrating Kenny Rogers hit single "Lady" selling over 1,000,000 copies. Released Sept. 29, 1980, the track was written by Lionel Richie. It was the first single of the 1980s to land a spot on all four of Billboard's singles charts: Country, Hot 100, Adult Contemporary and Hot Soul Singles. The single was certified Gold for 500,000 in sales on Nov. 25, 1980 by the RIAA but it no doubt sold well over a million copies when including international sales. (Note: This is not a RIAA award).
