RIAA Gold Single award for War hit "Summer". Released on June 21, 1976, it was certified Gold by the RIAA on Sept. 14, 1976 for one million copies sold.  The track, which appeared on War's Greatest Hits album, hit #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reached #4 on the R&B chart, and #1 on the Easy Listening tally.
