RIAA Gold Single award for War hit "Why Can't We Be Friends?". Released in April 1975, it was certified Gold by the RIAA on Aug. 19, 1975 for one million copies sold. The track, which appeared on War's album of the same name, hit #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and also in Canada. It also charted in Australia.
