25 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom Dark Red Kidney Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) per packet. Large and flavorful bean that's great for baking and cooking. Traditionally used in Mexican and Central American cuisine for soups, stews, and chilis. Direct sow 1 in deep at least 1 week after last frost when soil temp reaches 65F. Place 4 in apart in rows 2 feet apart. Germination takes 7-10 days. Does well in even and well drained soil. Avoid overwatering due to risk of rot. Mulch around once established. Needs full sun. Harvest first beans 95 days after germination. After harvesting, hang upside down from the roots for 10-15 days to dry.
