Italian Large Leaf Basil Seeds

300 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom Italian Large Leaf Basil Seeds (Ocimum basilicum) per packet. Produce large leaves that are 2-4 in long, the largest of basil varieties. Sweet and spicy flavor that is great for fresh use and in sauces. More mildly sweet flavor than Genovese. Grows to 24 in tall. Self seeds and grows well in containers and beds. Direct sow seeds 0.25 in deep when soil is around 65-70F. Place in direct sun. Germination takes 5-10 days. Plant in rich, well drained soil. Water evenly. Or start indoors as early as 4 weeks before last frost. Transplant when night time soil temps stay above 55F. Place 18 apart. Grows well in containers and indoors. Prune consistently to promote growth.
