I am a Noir Chestnut Wood Vat. My shape is inspired by a large vat found in dark rooms for photography. I guess you can say that makes me picture perfect.   Curator's Notes  The vat is one of Ryuji Mitani's signature shapes. Although it has such a specific source of inspiration, from dark room photography vats, the piece has become synonymous with Ryuji Mitani. The high walls on a tray like this makes it the perfect portable tray.
