Royal Staffordshire Brown Tonquin Transferware Lidded TureenRare & Very Difficult to find!For consideration I am offering this stunning brown  transferware covered tureen / casserole in the Tonquin pattern by Royal Staffordshire of England. The brown transfer has hand colored shades of blue, green, red, gold. The pattern features a Victorian era, Oriental home (it looks a little Colonial to me thought I know it's not) set alongside a river of lush foliage and trees. In the foreground you will find a pair of swans on the water, a sail boat and a bridge-walk going over the water falls of the river....very picturesque! The border is a stunning blend of victorian roses and what appears as beaded scrollwork.  Truly a wonderful find for your collection!Measures just over 10" handle to handle x 8.75" x 6" tallCondition: There are no chipss or cracks. There is crazing, commensurate to age, present.
