The Madeline is a one-of-a-kind Victorian paste gold filled-shell locket circa late 1800's. This beauty features oxidized sterling silver wire wrapped freshwater pearls mixed with a vintage gold chain.  Double photo locket pendant with plain back and hangs approximately 16 inches  with a 3 inch extension chain and pearl accent bead.  History: Lockets have been used historically to store keepsakes, pictures, hair, and, in some rumored circumstances, powdered poison or ashes. Although they were once used as a memento for sentimental reasons, they are more often viewed as fashion jewelry by our current culture.
