Sitmar Cruises: From the final year of operation, "The Sitmar Experience 1988". The seventy-four page brochure is the biggest and one of the best of the many "Experience" brochures printed since the mid-1970s. Like the others, Sitmar '88 is full of great aerial photography: FAIRSKY in a tropical harbor, the rounded stern of FAIRWIND crowded with colorful deck chairs, FAIRSEA traversing the Panama Canal and more. There are sample cabin photos and layouts plus full plans. Eight decks are shown for both FAIRSEA/FAIRWIND and FAIRSKY. And of course the brochure is full of lovely destination photography, rates, and itineraries. It was mid-way through the 1988 season when Sitmar ceased to be an independent cruise line. P&O stepped in and bought the company. The ships adopted the Princess banner and became FAIR PRINCESS (FAIRSEA), DAWN PRINCESS (FAIRWIND), and SKY PRINCESS (FAIRSKY). All three ships are now gone.
