Sitmar Line - A twenty-eight page services brochure from January 1928 covering Sitmar's extensive eastern Mediterranean sailings.The English-language brochure starts off with a color route map showing that all roads led to (or from) Genoa. Photos and travelogue extoll the virtues of cities ranging from Alexandria to Tripoli. Rates are shown in pound sterling. Interspersed are fleet photos. Besides a portrait-at-sea, flagship AUSONIA views show the First Class Entrance Hall, Ball Room, a double cabin, and Dining Room. Long artist renderings show an overall view of the Dining Room and of the Social Hall. ESPERIA images include a portrait, Smoking Room, a single cabin, Music Room, and Dining Room. Also shown are portraits of MILANO and ITALIA plus the Music Room of the BRASILE and Dining Saloon of the UMBRIA.In 1932 the Italian government consolidated all the money-loosing passenger lines.
