Late Classic Navajo blanket is either a child's blanket or a double saddle and is in excellent condition.    This antique Navajo weaving has Indigo blue and green, raveled bayetta, all natural dyes, raveled and recarded American flannel, two colors of bayetta green.  Possible Brazil wood brown.  Hand carded hand spun Merino wool.  Dark bands of Cochineal surround the indigo blue and green.  The weaver appears to have utilized small amounts of wool leftover from other weaving projects.   Indigo finish points on the sides of the blanket were turned back and incorporated into the weaving.   All the different wools are visible with many sheens and textures.  Beautiful blanket to have in your collection. So the story goes, this blanket belonged to Chee Dodge, but no written proof.  Style Saddle Blankets / Child's' blanket Weaver Unknown Navajo Date circa 1870-1880 Size 31″ x 52″ (2'7" x 4'4") Item # PC 202 Learn more about Navajo woven Saddle Blankets Contact us for more in
