Jewelry Appraisals by local third-party laboratory, Gemological Laboratory Services (GLSLA.com) Using the application of the grading techniques and equipment available at Gemological Laboratory Services, a GIA Graduate Gemologist will appraise the individual item within 24-48 hours and provide a Certificate (Mini or Full) containing all specifications of the jewelry piece, as well as an Estimated Replacement Value. Appraisals are used for identification purposes or to purchase insurance that could provide sufficient support in the event of a proof of loss or damage. This certificate itself is not a form of insurance, but is the legal document for clients to submit when purchasing insurance and/or adding the item to an already existing insurance policy.
