When I lived in Poland, I used to go out into the local forests to hunt for mushrooms. My guides were my in-laws, who had been foraging for decades. My MIL would take our daily haul home and separate them out, kurczaka and pieczarki were always my favorites. The former was known as the "Chicken of the Forest" and the latter found its way into my favorite dishes, like her amazing bigos, which is a classic polish Hunter's Stew, she slow cooked with sausage made from wild boar hunted on their land. Nothing like it! Earthy. rich. soulful and fulfilling. You won't want to share this! Each bag is 50 grams or 1.75 ounces.
