11" Os Rosemaled Plaque by Mary Schliep

Unique Os Style Rosmaled Plaque is designed and painted by our wonderful instructor Mary Schliep. The paddle is 11 3/4" tall and 8.25" wide, and is ready to hang on your wall to add that something special and a taste of Norway to your interior designs.  Rosemaling means "rose painting" in Norwegian, and the Os style of Rosemaling from the west coast of Norway is distinctively bright and cheerful. Flowers are abstracted and the use of geometric shapes is a hallmark of this style. Leaves have a characteristic use of heavy line-work for veins, and shading is less dimensional. C and S shaped scrolls are found in the Os style and often include elaborate line-work embellishment surrounding them.
