10 Foot Towing Toboggan
The Towing Toboggan traces its ancestry from Northern Manitoba, across Saskatchewan, and up into the Yukon. Some historians believe that the timeless slow-curl design of our freight toboggan was first introduced to the region by French Canadian pioneers who used these toboggans as trapping sleds. The locals recognized the way these sleds easily glided over brush and debris, shedding snow and protecting heavy loads from damage on trail. Because of its slightly smaller size, this heavy-duty snow sled is sometimes referred to as a “dog sled toboggan”. Not so long ago, it would be common to see one of these versatile freight toboggans towing behind a team of dogs. These days snowmobiles are the most popular choice for towing, although many customers also find that an ATV or side by side does the trick just as well, especially when traveling on light snow cover.
