Mitchell Wool Co., based on a family farm in Michigan, raises sheep-to-skein, completely American wool. The sheep live on the Mitchell farm, a neighbor grows the hay, and the mill that spins the yarn is just 40 miles down the road. They then hand-dye the yarn with natural dyes, mostly from plants grown on the farm. Suri Alpaca DK is a 2-ply, woolen-spun yarn made with incredibly soft Suri Alpaca and Rambouillet wool. Never super washed, the yarn has been naturally mordanted to lock in the color as much as possible. It's available in the following colors: Butternut Squash (dyed with marigold) Green Bean Casserole (dyed with mulberry and chlorophyll) Heirloom Tomato (dyed with madder) Pecan Pie (undyed) Please understand that this yarn is hand-dyed with natural dyes.
