Wild Mint
Wild mint (Mentha Canadensis) 10-24'' tall cuttings or rhizomes (depending on time of year) ready to plant. The best way to propagate.. place cuttings in water with some sun until the roots start to grow. Then plant in the soil. Or plant in a pot anytime of the year and transplant in spring. Native species of the Great Lakes and Midwest region. These particular cuttings are leftovers from our hybridizing projects. These are not hybrids but a WI native species, so they will have good flavor and create viable seeds if not cut back in late summer. The best part about this species is won't out-compete other plants, is easily controlled, and tolerates cold weather better than its relatives. But do note that it loves water. In a planting pot once established in about 3 months, it will come back when it gets more water. Easy to take care of.
