Background A unique ornamental available from the natural habitat of Sumatera, Java, and Borneo. Enrichetta Treves de Bonfili of Padua, a 19th century benefactor of botanical science, inspired the name. All of the species' leaves are palmately lobed, but in some, the lobes narrow to form false petiolules, and the lamina expands again near the leaf's base. These are the usual mature leaves of Trevesia burckii, although in another species (Trevesia palmata), leaf dissection varies both between and within individual plants. The leaves of young T. burckii seedlings are ovate. In nature, the plant can grow to be up to 15-20" tall and enjoys the shaded setting of a mountain rainforest. It is a resilient indoor plant that can withstand a wide range of residential settings, from direct sunlight to dark places.   Care Guide Origin Borneo, Malaya, Sumatera, Thailand Sun 50% to 70% light intensity and brilliant indirect light are needed. Temperature/Humidity Requires 50% up to 80% room humidit
